Law Enforcement

Law enforcement refers to the system and agencies responsible for maintaining public order, enforcing laws, preventing and investigating crimes, and apprehending individuals who violate laws. This includes local, state, and federal agencies such as police departments, sheriff’s offices, and specialized federal agencies like the FBI. Law enforcement officials, including police officers and detectives, carry out various duties, including patrolling communities, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and engaging with the community to prevent crime. The primary goal of law enforcement is to ensure the safety and security of the public, uphold the rule of law, and promote justice within society.
