Asia

Asia is the largest and most populous continent on Earth, located primarily in the Eastern and Northern Hemispheres. It is bordered by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Indian Ocean to the south, and Europe and Africa to the west, with the Ural Mountains and the Caspian Sea commonly used as geographic boundaries. Asia encompasses diverse cultures, languages, and religions, home to a wide range of ethnic groups and histories. It plays a significant role in global economics, politics, and culture and includes rapidly developing countries as well as some of the world’s oldest civilizations. Major subregions of Asia include East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and Western Asia (often referred to as the Middle East). The varied geography of the continent includes vast deserts, mountain ranges (like the Himalayas), tropical rainforests, and extensive river systems, contributing to its rich biodiversity and natural resources. Asia’s population is heavily concentrated in urban areas, with megacities such as Tokyo, Delhi, and Shanghai being among the most populous in the world.
